The rules have changed. The center has been reduced
from 5cm to 3cm. It is no longer possible to compete
in accuracy without special Boots. After 10 rounds
of accuracy the difference between winning and
losing a medal is 1cm. At the 1996 CISM
Championships, in the Men’s Team Event,
only 1cm in the entire team
score separated second
place Russia (31cm),
third place Hungary
(32cm) and fourth
place Italy (33cm).
Today’s Accuracy
Event is so competitive
you must use every
advantage possible.
